What are you reading? [Jun. 14th, 2006|04:16 pm]
I would prefer not to

I have been thinking about Bartleby quite a lot - while reading Faisal Devji, Landscapes of the Jihad (Hurst & Co., London, 2005) - because it's so rare that I get to read a book from cover to cover these days. I've posted a lot of notes about it over 4 days, starting here. I'm interested to know if anyone else has read it and, if so, what did you think of it?

Otherwise, what else do I need to put on my endless 'to read' list?

i've been reading your posts about jihad, but have not read the book. i may.
currently i'm reading confessions of an economic hitman by john perkins. i don't know if it should be on your "to read" list or not. i haven't decided if i like it myself. the basis of it seems true enough, for sure, but the particular situations and conversations seem manufactured and over dramatized. *shrug*
i asked my friends this same famous wouldprefernot2 line on the 7th, but only one person replied with a book title.
